Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information.

Last updated 29 September 2026

This policy explains what personal information the IAG Student Portal collects about you, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It applies to the portal itself. It does not cover the separate IAG cinema, learning, electricity or loyalty services.

1. What we collect

We only collect what the portal needs in order to sell you a voucher, sign you in, and support you afterwards.

  • Your email address and phone number. You give us one of these when you sign in, and both are required when you buy a package.
  • Your purchases. The package you bought, the price, the currency, whether the payment succeeded, and the voucher code issued to you.
  • Your payment record. The transaction reference, receipt number, amount, fees, payment channel and timestamp reported by our payment provider. We never see or store your card or mobile money details.
  • Your sign in codes. One-time codes sent to your email or phone, and whether they were used, expired or cancelled.
  • Technical details. Your session record and the IP address our payment provider records when a transaction is confirmed.

2. Why we use it

  • To verify that you are the person a voucher was sold to, by sending a one-time code to the email address or phone number on that purchase.
  • To process your payment and issue your voucher.
  • To send you your voucher code by SMS and email, and to keep a record you can check later.
  • To investigate problems, answer support requests, and keep our records accurate.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers we need in order to run the portal:

  • Our payment provider, Paystack. It handles card and mobile money payments and returns the transaction result to us. Your payment is processed on its secure pages; your card or mobile money credentials never pass through the portal.
  • Our SMS provider. It delivers the messages we send, including your one-time sign in code and your voucher code.
  • Our email provider. It delivers your one-time sign in code and your purchase confirmation.
  • Law enforcement or a regulator, where we are legally required to disclose it.

These providers act on our instructions and are responsible for protecting the data they hold. Where a provider stores data outside Ghana, that transfer is made to deliver the service to you.

4. How long we keep it

We keep purchase, payment and sign in records for as long as we need them to run your voucher, answer your support requests and meet our accounting and legal obligations. We remove sign in codes as soon as they are used, expired or cancelled. Signing out clears your session.

5. How we protect it

The portal is served over HTTPS. Access to your details is limited to staff who need it to support you. Verification codes are sent to the contact details already held against your purchases, which is what stops someone else signing in as you.

No system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us and we will investigate.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
  • Delete your details, where we are not required to keep them for legal or accounting reasons.
  • Stop us contacting you, though you will still need SMS and email for your voucher codes.

Write to us using the contact details below and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can. You also have the right to complain to Ghana’s Data Protection Commission about how we have handled your information.

7. Cookies

The portal sets one essential cookie to keep you signed in. It is required for the portal to work and cannot be switched off. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies here.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the portal after a change means you accept the updated policy.

9. Contact us

Questions, requests or complaints about your personal information can be sent to the support team. Quote the email address or phone number you use to sign in and we will find your records straight away.
